Wanderlust around Innsbruck in Tyrol

On the long-distance hiking trail Innsbruck Trek you can cover all the mountain massifs of the Innsbruck region in seven days. The special service: you hike without luggage.

Up high and onwards: explore the region around the Tyrolean capital Innsbruck on foot in seven days? Hikers can do that on the Innsbruck Trek – including relaxed luggage transport and relaxing overnight stays in star accommodation. Innsbruck Tourism and ASI Reisen, the renowned Alpine School Innsbruck, have jointly developed the Innsbruck Trek. The Innsbruck Trek opens up all the mountain massifs around the capital of the Alps and leads hikers through the most famous hiking regions in the area, such as along the Kalkkögel in the Stubai Alps or along the Zirbenweg. A long-distance hike that leads in seven days along the most selected and beautiful hiking trails around Innsbruck.

From Innsbruck’s old town to the Karwendel mountains

The first stage begins in the middle of Innsbruck’s old town and ends in the airy heights of the Karwendel Mountains. The route leads across the sun-drenched Mieminger Plateau, onto the impressive Stubai Alps to Kühtai, where you spend a night at over 2000 metres above sea level. From there, you head for the mountaineering villages of St. Sigmund and Gries im Sellrain before heading to the Axamer Lizum. A special highlight of this stage is the breathtaking view of the rugged beauty of the Kalkkögel, the Dolomites of North Tyrol.

Because the Innsbruck Trek promises impressive nature experiences on the one hand, but also absolute comfort on the other, this trekking holiday offers a convenient all-around carefree package: the route is predetermined but extremely flexible. Every day, two guided hikes are offered at different levels of difficulty. So you can spontaneously choose between a moderately difficult or a more demanding hike every day.

Enjoy with all your senses

It is also important to enjoy nature with all your senses and not to waste a thought on backpacks that are too heavy. The heavy luggage is transported comfortably from one stage to the next and is already waiting for the participants at the respective hotel. Speaking of hotels: a comfortable bed and the comfort of a well-kept accommodation are included because the participants stay in selected – and of course pre-booked – 3-star hotels.

Professional guide or own pace on the Innsbruck Trek

On the Innsbruck Trek you hike either in the company of highly trained ASI mountain guides on fixed dates or individually at your own pace on the date of your choice. Of course, hiking unaccompanied does not mean having to do without service: All accommodation is reserved, hikers receive detailed travel documents, maps, luggage transport and a 24/7 service number.
