Getting Oriented: Main Layout

When you first access the chatbot, the screen is divided into three major areas:

Top Navigation Bar

Across the top, you’ll see:

• Logo “Promptchan. com”—clicking on it at any time will take you back to the main hub.
• Search bar – use to search for characters, prompts, etc. on the site.
• Explore – typically opens a discovery page based on public characters and content.
• Create – global “create” menu (for making new characters or content).
• Tweak – to recognise modifying/altering existing creations (e.g. advanced settings/prompts).
• Chat – whisks you back to the chat screen if you were diving into other scenes.
• Upgrade (the purple “rocket” button) – displays the pricing/subscription plans screen.
• Diamond plus number icon (e.g., “2”) – indicates the current count of your in-app currency.
• Profile/user icon – commonly leads you to the account menu, settings or your profile.

Also, to the top right of the chat area you have:

• New (little black button with person icon)
• Presumably, some kind of shortcut to expediently make a new AI bot straight from the chat page.
• Call v2! (purple button with phone icon) – It triggers a call-like interaction with the current character (typically voice or fake call)
• You don’t need any of these right now to start typing, but they can be useful when you want to explore and customise.
• Messages Panel (Left Sidebar)
• Under the “Promptchan. com” header, scroll down and you will find the Messages section.

3.1 Existing Conversations

Example entry:

• Alison – New Match!
• Avatar – the profile picture of the AI girlfriend.
• Name – “Alison”.
• Status line – “New Match!” (newly connected).
• Timestamp – indicates when the match or last message occurred.
• X button (top right of card) – deletes or closes the conversation from this list.

To open a chat:

Tap any thing on the Alison card. The chat will load into the large empty chat area on the right.

3.2 Finding or Inventing New Characters

Underneath the messages are two big purple buttons:

• Discover Profiles
• Click here to peruse other people’s or the platform’s homemade AI girlfriends.
• Once you’re there, you usually swipe on a profile to get things rolling with a new match/chat. It will then pop into your Messages list.
• Create a Character
• Opens a character creation wizard.

Here you normally define:

• Name, personality, backstory
• Appearance preferences
• Style of relationship (e.g., flirty, romantic, supportive friend etc.)
• Once saved, your custom AI girlfriend now appears in Messages.

Tip: If you’re a beginner, try and discover some profiles to help test the chat quickly before going into creating character once you know something that pleases you!

Settings: Chat Mode & Features

In the left sidebar, click on “Settings” in order to customize how exactly you want the artificial intelligence to function.

4.1 Chat Mode Toggle

You will see a large, pill-shaped toggle that has two options:

Chat (selected in white)

Description under it:

Chat Mode — Experience an intimate conversation mode with a chat simulation by AI.

This is the default. It acts like a girlfriend in a typical casual chat conversation.

Story (grey side of the toggle with a theatre mask symbol)

Switch over to this if you prefer more of the roleplay/storytelling/plot-focused scenes, rather than quick cut-and-dry texts.

How to use:

If you prefer short, believable text messages (for example chatting with your SO) click Chat. If you like long scenes, literate writing and storyistic manipulation, click Story.

You can change them even while you’re already in conversation- it applies to next responses.

4.2 Chat Feature

Under “Chat Features” you’ll see:

Checkbox: “Selfie Photos”: This probably determines whether the AI can send or display “selfie-style” images via chat.

No holds barred – All out selfie pictures.

Checked – the chatbot is authorized to use that feature, and can show more visual content.

To activate it, simply tap the square next to “Selfie Photos” until it has a check mark included.

Selecting the AI Version (Model Selector)

At the top, in the middle of the screen, is a tiny black pill:

“v2.1 Mini ▼” This is the model selector. By clicking on it, you should get a drop-down with which to select different versions (“v2. 1 Full”, “v3” or whatever the site has available). The “mini” prefix usually signifies lighter, faster, maybe less costly in terms of consumption and performance.

Suggested use:

• If your device or connection is slower, or you’re just chatting casually, stick with v2. 1 Mini.
• If you see a higher-end model on offer and desire more nuanced writing or deeper convos, then step up and switch models from this menu.

The Right Chat (the center section): This pretty dark space is where the conversation itself shows up.

6.1 Message Input Bar

A long rounded bar is at the bottom center of your screen:

Left side – Paperclip icon

Click this to upload files or images (like sending the AI a picture to discuss).

File selected, it will be attached to your next message.

Middle – Text input field

Click inside and begin typing your message.

Basically you can write from “Hi, how was your day? or to detailed roleplay prompts or scenarios, depending on the mode.

Right – Paper-plane/arrow icon (Send)

Simply click here to send your message.

You can normally also press Enter on your keyboard as a shortcut (unless the site uses Shift+Enter for line breaks).

6.2 The Sequence: Sending Your First Message (Step-by-Step)

• Click on Alison (or whomever) on the left-hand side in Messages to open that chat.
• Set Chat Mode or Story Mode the way you like in Settings.
• (Optional) Check on Selfie Photos if you want photo-like content.
• (Optional) Use the v2. 1 Mini Drop Down to Select Your Favorite Model.
• Click in the message bar at the bottom and write your opening line, such as: “Hi Alison, it’s great to meet you!” or “Let’s picture we’re on a beach date. Describe the scene for me.”
• Tap the Send (paper plane) icon.
• Just be patient and let the AI respond—her messages will pop up in the main chat window above the input box.

You can now carry on a conversation naturally: ask questions, share thoughts or describe scenes. Responses will vary with game mode and character personality.

Attaching Images or Files

If you want to share visuals:

• Hit the paperclip on the left of your message bar.
• Select the image/file on your device.
• Once attached, type your message (for example: “What do you think of this outfit?”)..
• Press Send.
• The AI would respond more contextually(net) (if the platform takes an understanding image, or takes the attached picture just as a shared one).
• Using “Call v2!” and Extra Actions

In the top right corner of the chat area:

New (grey button with person icon): Quickly launch a new character creation flow from within the chat layout. Once it’s made, your new AI girlfriend will pop up in the Messages list.

Call v2! (purple button with phone icon): Initiates deeper call-style interaction with the present AI (typically speech or simulated call). Use this when you want the experience to feel closer to a phone call than an exchange of text messages.

Note: If you click “Call v2!”, but as Promptchan has it configured you might need a stupid single ear microphone and headset.

Handling and juggling with AI Girlfriends

You’ll probably have more than one character as you use the platform:

• In Messages, each character is listed as a card with their avatar, name and last active time.
• Tap any character card to jump directly into that conversation.
• Utilize the “X” on the card to close/hide chats you do not wish to remain populated under the list.
• Play Discover Profiles and Create a Character whenever you need some newness and fun.
