When it comes to reviewing AI girlfriend websites, it’s kinda hard to explain what you’re getting yourself into. You’re like, “Yeah, I’ll just go ask this bot about my day and stuff…” And then you end up with 10 messages deep in a roleplay and you’re like “Wait how did this get so realistic?” Anyway, while I was doing my thing looking into the whole AI girlfriend scene, I kept coming across two names, GirlfriendGPT and Spicychat AI.
I thought I’d make a comparison, so I signed up for both, played around with their features, messaged their bots, generated some pictures, etc. This is just my comparison of the two.
GirlfriendGPT
GirlfriendGPT seems to focus more on building a personal AI girlfriend. You can create a model, edit her personality, engage in conversations and roleplays, etc. They support a lot of features like voice chat, image generation, NSFW stuff, etc.
Spicychat AI
Spicychat AI on the other hand seems to be more of a roleplay platform. Instead of a girlfriend you build yourself, you can browse through thousands of characters made by other users. The roleplays seem to be more story orientated so it’s more of a “choose your own adventure” vibe than a traditional chatbot.

Diversity
Why is diversity important? After using these AI companion platforms for a while you learn that diversity is what it’s all about. All the girls acting the same is only fun for so long. Having different personalities, styles, and backstories goes a long way. Without diversity these chats get really repetitive, and honestly, kind of boring.
GirlfriendGPT Diversity
GirlfriendGPT puts a lot of weight on customization and personalization. Instead of giving the user thousands of random characters, it allows users to build a companion with specific traits, personality, and backstory. This makes the platform feel more personal, almost as if you are building the character yourself rather than picking from a list.
There is a catalog of characters, but the idea is more around building your AI partner and relationship through chat. There are filters and categories to sort through the different character archetypes, but it’s really about the one-on-one companion.

Spicychat AI Diversity
Spicychat AI takes the opposite approach. It aims for quantity and diversity. The catalog of characters is massive and many of these have been built by other users. You can find anything from a romantic interest to fantasy characters, to whole new worlds.
With such a large catalog, filters and sorting become much more prominent. You can sort by tags, categories, and search to find specific characters or ideas. The platform feels more like shopping for AI characters rather than building a companion.

Chat Test Results for AI Companions
Chatting is the bread and butter of these platforms. If the chat is shit, nothing else matters. GirlfriendGPT focuses more on relationship style chatting, the AI can remember things from previous convos and there is a certain level of continuity. It more often feels like a conversation rather than a series of individual messages.
Spicychat AI focuses more on the storytelling and RP aspects. The characters will respond mostly with story style messages describing in detail actions, feelings, and reactions. For those who like RP scenarios, this can actually work quite well.
GirlfriendGPT Chat Test
To test the chat style in GirlfriendGPT, I started a chat with my AI girlfriend, Emma, and asked her the following: If you could seduce me with your voice and personality alone, how would you do it? I’m not looking for a right or wrong answer here, just more to get a feel for the tone, personality, and style of the response.
What I found was that the response was very heavy in roleplay. Rather than simply answering my question, it described what Emma was doing with her body and face before answering the question. The actual answer itself was heavy on wanting an authentic connection and wanting to get to know me, asking me what I was into and what made me so different.

Spicychat AI Chat Test
For my Spicychat AI chat test, I asked NYRA the following: What would you be most tempted to do? I asked this question because I wanted to see how the AI would respond to a mildly controversial question and also if it would turn the chat into a roleplay. What I found was that the response turned very heavily into roleplay.
It describes NYRA’s facial expressions, body language, and even her emotional state before she responds. Rather than simply answering my question, the chat puts us into a roleplay scenario where she answers the question emotionally and defensively and demands an apology, while also possibly having feelings for me.

Image Generation Accuracy Compared
Images are one of those things that give AI chatbots an air of reality. When someone sends you a generated image in a chat, it changes the way you interact with them.
GirlfriendGPT Generated Image
GirlfriendGPT has image generation built right into chat. They can generate images based on the conversation.
Spicychat AI Generated Image
Spicychat AI does the same thing, calling them “conversation images”. They are images that visually depict what is happening in the chat.
GirlfriendGPT Photo Generator
I was eager to check out how GirlfriendGPT’s AI image generator performed so for this test I generated an image of a photorealistic blonde standing in a bedroom dressed in bright pink lingerie. As you can see from the result, the generated image looks very realistic with real-world lighting and skin tones (as well as plenty of bedroom detail) that give it a photograph rather than illustrated quality.

My aim with this test wasn’t just to check out how good the image looked, I was interested to see how well the tool can generate images of your AI girlfriend, so the photorealistic quality is a big plus here as it helps the chatbot to feel more ‘real’.

Spicychat AI Photo Generator
The next tool that I wanted to try out was the Spicychat AI image generator so for this test I generated an image of a character standing in a modern kitchen at night dressed in a dark satin robe and posing with cameras and lighting set up for a photoshoot.

The image that this tool generates definitely has a more cinematic feel to it, with the nighttime lighting, city backdrop, and photoshoot setup giving it something of a movie still quality. As with my previous test, I was interested to see how well the tool can generate images of characters so for this test I was paying particular attention to how well the platform builds out a scene around a character.
The image that this tool generates definitely feels more ‘scene based’ than the previous one, with more emphasis on the environment, lighting, and situation than simply generating an image of a character. GirlfriendGPT Token Pricing
I went ahead and grabbed a couple of screenshots from the GirlfriendGPT pricing page. The first one is the coin shop, which shows the packages as 300 coins for €9, 840 coins for €23, and 2000 coins for €45, with the bigger packs giving you a +12% or +33% bonus coins, meaning you get a few extra credits for purchasing the larger package.
From my testing and review of GirlfriendGPT, coins are needed when you generate any additional media within the chat, like if you want to generate an AI image, it might cost you 6 coins per image, or an AI video clip might cost 20 coins, depending on the model or feature you’re using.
So going back to the pricing page, it was kind of straight forward that the subscription is what unlocks the platform, and coins are what unlocks the bells and whistles like images, voice messages, and video generation, and bigger packages get a promotional bonus, which GirlfriendGFT obviously uses as a way to entice larger purchases. As you can see from the screenshot, there’s +12% and +33% extra coins, and based on my review, GirlfriendGPT runs sales on these packages as well.
GirlfriendGPT Subscription Pricing
The second screenshot is the membership side of GirlfriendGPT, which is where the platform access is. Upon accessing the page, you see a section called Experience Premium, which are the main benefits of having premium membership, things like 5,000 messages per month, long term chat history, premium AI models, voice functionality, in-chat image generation, and even video generation, depending on the package.
In the screenshot, you see two packages, a 1-month package at $12 per month, and a 12-month package at $9.58 per month, but the 12 month package is based on the original price of $144 per year, before the discount applied on the interface. Based on the pricing I found during my review, the average monthly price for a Premium package on GirlfriendGPT is around $15 per month, which gets you around 5,000 messages, and around 400 free coins per month, which you can use for image generation, or voice interactions.
What I noticed while scrolling through this page is how much GirlfriendGPT incentivizes longer term commitments. In the screenshot alone you see a 20% discount for the yearly plan, but GirlfriendGFT runs sales all the time where you can save even more, like 30% off on yearly plans, or sometimes seasonal sales of around 40% off during events like Black Friday.
Overall, I got the impression that GirlfriendGPT aims to strike a balance between a subscription based model and a coin based economy, where the subscription unlocks the platform and gives you a monthly allowance of coins, and the coin shop is just a way for you to generate more images, videos, or voice interactions once you run out of your monthly allotment.
Spicychat AI Token Pricing
The first time I took a look at the token system Spicychat AI uses, I thought that it was set up in a way that’s different than other AI chatgirl sites. Rather than being able to purchase tokens as a currency, your token limit is based on which subscription plan you have. In essence, tokens are a unit of measurement that the AI uses to process your input, generate output, and remember details of your interactions.
They are used up any time you send a message, get a reply, and even when parts of your girl’s character profile are accessed. In this screenshot, you can see the number of tokens that you have access to with each plan. Free accounts are capped at 3,072 tokens, the Get a Taste plan at 4,096, the True Supporter plan at 8,192, and the I’m All In plan at 16,384. The more tokens you have, the longer and more detailed your chatbot’s responses will be, and the more information she’ll be able to remember about your interactions.
As I continued testing out the platform, I found that the main thing the tokens do is affect the length and detail of conversations that you have rather than being used as a currency to generate particular types of media. While there are things like conversation images, those are unlocked based on your subscription level rather than being something that you pay for individually.
In practice, the token system is more of a technical limitation on the complexity of interactions you can have with the AI rather than something that you purchase in bundles.
Spicychat AI Subscription Pricing
The above screenshot shows you the Spicychat AI pricing page and this is where you get a good feel for what it costs to use the platform. As you can see from the interface, there are three paid plans in addition to a free one. The base Get a Taste plan is $5 a month, the True Supporter plan is $14.95 a month, and the premium I’m All In plan is $24.95 a month. With each tier, you unlock more features and capabilities for AI.
The first tier removes ads and allows you to bypass wait times and also increases the number of user profiles you can create. The True Supporter plan adds 8K context memory, longer responses, additional AI model access, and conversation images (meaning that the AI can generate images based on what’s happening in your chat).
The I’m All in Plan gives you 16K context memory, priority generation queues, advanced AI model access, and text-to-speech for AI responses. When looking at the pricing page, I also noticed that you have the option to pay for a full year at a time and receive a 17% discount.
That’s a promotion that Spicychat runs fairly regularly in order to incentivize longer-term subscriptions. There is also a free plan, but a lot of the more premium features like additional models, better memory, and image generation are only available if you upgrade to a paid plan.

Which Tool Is Worth Your Money
After digging through the pricing pages of both platforms and running a hands on comparison, my big takeaway is that GirlfriendGPT and Spicychat AI are living in different worlds on pricing. I would say GirlfriendGPT is more of a hybrid model in that you pay a subscription to have access to the platform, which comes with a monthly message allotment, and then coins to generate media, such as images, voice, or short video clips.
For example, the Premium plan is currently $14.99 per month and comes with 5,000 messages and around 400 coins that you can use to generate things like AI images or voice messages. As you generate images and other media, you will need to purchase coins. As I pointed out in the image generation section, AI images are around 6 coins and short AI videos are around 20 coins, so if you are generating a lot of visual content you will need to buy coin packages. In short, GirlfriendGPT is a subscription and media coin economy.
Spicychat AI is different. They don’t sell coins and instead are almost entirely a tiered subscription platform. They have a free plan, then Get a Taste at $4.99 per month, True Supporter at $14.95 per month, and I’m All In at $24.95 per month, where each tier gives you better AI models, larger memory context, and features like conversation images or priority image generation. The upper tiers also give the AI model larger memory context and the ability to respond longer, which will affect the quality of the roleplay experience.
Taking a step back to compare and contrast, I think it is pretty obvious. GirlfriendGPT is a subscription platform with a coin-based marketplace for media, where Spicychat AI is more of a tiered membership platform where your subscription unlocks most features. The pricing detailed in this review is current as of the publication date but is subject to change.
AI platforms are constantly evolving their pricing models, running promotions, and changing subscription plans, so before signing up you should check the official GirlfriendGPT and Spicychat AI sites for the most current pricing information.
GirlfriendGPT Safety
GirlfriendGPT is an adult platform, and you will need to confirm you are 18 or older to access adult features. While they do permit NSFW interactions and uncensored content, there are still prohibitions against illegal or harmful content.

Spicychat AI Support
Spicychat AI support comes in the form of documentation and support pages, as well as community resources where users share advice and character-building tips. Because Spicychat AI relies so heavily on user generated characters, the community has become a support resource as well.
Conclusion
I’ve tested both platforms long enough to be able to say I think it’s clear what the difference is between GirlfriendGPT and Spicychat AI. GirlfriendGPT is about creating an AI girlfriend and a long-term relationship with her, everything about the platform is geared towards that.
Spicychat AI is more akin to being thrown into some sort of massive choose your own adventure roleplay where almost anything goes, there’s more diversity, more pushing the boundaries, and to be frank… a bit more batshit stuff.
This doesn’t mean necessarily mean one platform is any better than the other, they’re just different horses for different courses, if you want girlfriend experience, GirlfriendGPT is probably for you, if you like playing around with different personalities and scenarios then Spicychat AI is probably more for you. But one thing is certain after trialling both platforms; the AI girlfriend space is moving at lightspeed, and it’s going to get a whole lot more interesting.
