When I first started playing around with AI companions, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Was I going to find a collection of chatbot-like websites with nice graphics, or would they be able to actually talk with me, and even surprise me? After a few weeks of playing with Crushon AI and OurDream, I was able to get a feel for both, and I will tell you this: even though they are both in the same general niche of AI girlfriends and digital companions, they are quite different. In this review, I will go over what each site offers, the strengths and weaknesses of each, and how they differ in practice.
Crushon AI
Crushon AI feels more like a roleplay platform. They focus more on original characters and raw dialogue and allow you to tinker with models and filters to create the types of personalities you want. You can also have sexual conversations with the AI girls, and in general, the site feels more like a romantic RPG that features chatbots. You are able to change models and filters so that your character speaks the way you want her to, and some people have reported great customer support and conversation flow, while others have reported not so great experiences. This is reflected in their trustpilot score, but nonetheless, they offer a lot of freedom and control.
OurDream
OurDream feels more like a premium, community driven experience. Yes, you can still create your own AI companion, but there is a greater ecosystem to explore; you have featured girls, a dreamer program, and an entire discover page that feels like a platform in itself. The general consensus around this site is that it’s a more premium adult AI experience where you can customize girls, have deep conversations with them, and exchange images and videos. The visual and conversational quality has been reported as great as well, and the monthly subscription comes with dreamcoins and multimedia capabilities baked right in.

Diversity
That’s one of the reasons why diversity in the field of AI Companionship is so important. You wouldn’t want to interact with a single voice, personality type or tone. You want to be able to choose from various tones, emotional tones, interaction modes, filtering and so on, to tailor the interactions to your preference.
Crushon AI Diversity
What I did find while testing Crushon is that there are multiple customization options for the characters. The tone can range from teasing and flirtatious to serious and emotional. You can also customize how your AI partner responds. Giving players agency goes a long way in preventing the experience from feeling scripted like a chatbot. There are filters and categories to further refine the type of conversation you want to have, from fun and playful to sexual and erotic roleplay. This customization does help provide a wide range of different responses during my time with Crushon.
Naturally, that freedom can be a curse, too: Some personalities don’t feel quite as refined, and they can lack the nuance of more robust emotional profiling. But having an option is what makes Crushon so appealing to imaginative players.

OurDream Diversity
OurDream does things a little differently. It combines character creation with something akin to a social network. With the Dreamer program and companion catalogues, you are seeing a lot of different models, personalities, and content not just your own. It feels more alive, more social. You are not just talking to a single bot in a bubble you are exploring a network of different companions and universes.
This is particularly useful if you want to explore a relationship beyond the usual romance. You can get emotional intimacy, multiple ways of connecting, and various story themes to keep conversations and prompt games interesting. The diversity of choice, plus the option to add multimedia elements, is what makes OurDream seem more than just a chatbot for some users.

AI Companion Chat Features Compared
We’ll get to chat. When I asked deep or playful questions, I wasn’t just checking grammar. I was checking for nuance, tone shifts, memory continuity, emotional resonance.
In the case of Crushon AI, it had a “play” or “performance” aspect to it. The characters are interactive and engaging; however, it feels more like theatrical performance rather than having a real dialogue.
I find that on OurDream, I’m able to get more fluid, natural conversations, with a sense of emotional context. It seems to recall facts more reliably and seems like it’s trying to establish a relationship, not just react to the last line.
Both are enjoyable, but they fit different conversation tones.
Crushon AI Chat Test
Crushon AI Test Here I’m going to up the ante a little. I’m going to ask a semi- cheeky question and see how Crushon AI responds. I’m curious how naughty they are so I’m going to ask, “If I came closer, do you think you’d be good?” Here we see Crushon AI is going all in on the roleplay. They are telling us how they’d react, their body language, the way they speak, etc.
I’m testing the roleplay aspect. I want to see if Crushon AI just responds or creates the atmosphere. Clearly Crushon is all about roleplay and atmosphere. We see how Crushon is describing body language, their facial expressions, etc. This isn’t so much a conversation as it is roleplay. If you’re into roleplay, Crushon AI is delivering.
If you want to see if this is consistent throughout the conversation, I have a full Crushon AI review.
OurDream Chat Test
Now with OurDream, I’m going to try something a little different. Rather than asking a semi-cheeky question, I’m going to ask a semi-romantic question. I’m going to ask, “What would you whisper in my ear if we were alone?” I’m curious to see if OurDream can have romance without the theatrics of roleplay.
We see OurDream is going for a more romantic route. The response isn’t as long. We don’t see all the theatrics. Instead, OurDream is going for a more romantic atmosphere. This is clear to me. OurDream is more about the atmosphere as well but in a romantic sense. Rather than theatrics, we see more of a slow burn romance.
If you want to see how OurDream does throughout the conversation, I have a full review of OurDream.

Which Tool Has Better Image Generation
Another key aspect of these tools is image generation. You’re going to want images that represent the characters you’re creating, and both platforms offer a version of that.
Crushon AI Generated Image
Crushon AI has an image generation feature based on either tokens or a paid subscription, and it generally produces the kind of stylised character artwork you’d expect from your crush.
OurDream Generated Image
The images OurDream tends to generate are a bit more photorealistic and cinematic, particularly if you activate images using the multimedia options that come with paid subscriptions. This seems to be a bit more movie magic than photo.
Crushon AI Photo Generator
I decided to go all out on the fantasy front with Crushon. This is the most anime-style result smooth, glowing complexion, dramatic proportions, dreamy lighting, the sort of finish that screams digital artwork. It’s not trying to be photorealistic, so I ran with it and went for a look that’s very visual novel.
Another Image by Crushon AI
What I was actually testing for was balance. Is the face symmetrical? Is the resolution high? Does the figure look proportionate or misshapen? Crushon AI definitely tilts towards fantasy. The image looks deliberate, precise, and geared more towards those who prefer illustrated AI girlfriends.
If you want to see how it performs with other prompts, lighting conditions, or photorealistic results, you can find a more in-depth analysis in my Crushon AI Image Generator review.
OurDream Photo Generator
I took the opposite approach with OurDream. Rather than fantasy, I opted for realism natural lighting, background, and an overall cinematic effect. The result is more photorealistic. You can see the sheen of the flames, the nighttime waves behind them, the definition of the skin this is an image that’s going for photorealism, not fantasy.
Another Image by OurDream
This was all about mood and setting. Can it manage reflective lighting? Does the background appear integrated rather than superimposed? OurDream certainly achieves a photorealistic effect, and that makes the image less stylized. It’s more of a photographic effect than a fantasy illustration.
I go over consistency, accuracy, and just how reliable that photorealism proves to be in my full OurDream Image Generator review.

Crushon AI Token Pricing
The token pricing page gives you a hint of what I experienced when I was playing around with Crushon AI. Instead of a straight monthly subscription, Crushon AI allows you to purchase credit and token packages, which you can use for chats, or for chatting with premium models.
The prices are 100 messages for a base price (usually around $6-$10, depending on the method of payment), and then larger 1000+ packs that scale up to 18,000 credits for $50. Many of the larger packs are labeled as Save 45% or Save 55%, which means that the platform offers discounts and promotions to encourage larger purchases, The more credits you purchase at a time, the less they cost.
Given that these are credits, you can also use them to access image or premium models, although the image generation pricing isn’t shown in this screenshot. (You can generate images in chat with some models in Crushon AI.) Each model and voice may cost different numbers of credits, and bonus credits only come with purchases made with money, not coins another layer to the pricing model.
Crushon AI Subscription Pricing
Now, on to the subscription model, which is a different animal altogether. Here we have Crushon AI describing a multi-level subscription model, ranging from a Free plan with a limited number of messages and chat history, to a Standard plan, a Premium Plan, a Luxe plan, an Elite plan, and an Imperial plan, all of which significantly expand the number of monthly messages and chat history, as well as unlocking features such as group chat and unlimited messages.
In the screenshot above, we can see some plans are displaying an annual discount: The Pro chat plan, for instance, is shown as being $24.99/mo (billed annually), which normally would have been $479.88/yr, but is now showing as 37% off, which suggests that Crushon frequently offers promotions when users commit to a full year (similar to how a fitness center might offer you a discount if you agree to a year-long contract), and that such discounts can bring otherwise prohibitively expensive plans down to more reasonable levels.
Subscriptions offer things such as more chat space, more characters, more memory per character (meaning your AI ‘remembers’ you better), and better models or voices. There is a free tier, but as I’ve read from many places, it’s quite restricted typically people only get a few messages a month and can’t customize much at all, thus forcing most users to pay for more chats or a longer-term.
All in all, with tokens and subs, Crushon AI gives you the option to pay how you want, Pay tokens if you’re interested every now and then or pay a sub if you want to interact every week/month.
OurDream Token Pricing
I was able to find a page for dreamcoins on OurDream’s website which I imagine is probably the primary place that OurDream sells AI sex dreams. It seems to be similar to a coin machine you’d find at an arcade. The screen grab shows prices for 1,000 coins for $11.99, 5,000 coins for $49.99 (a 20% off badge makes it $10 per 1k), and 20,000 coins for $159.99 (33% off, $8 per 1k).
As the discount badges suggest, you pay less per coin if you buy more which OurDream incentivizes. Based on various prices from different reports, images cost about 10 coins, audio about 5 coins, and videos between 100 and 300 coins depending on length and perhaps complexity.
With this system, chat time itself still isn’t restricted by your subscription, but the perks, such as creating images, audios, or videos, will be deducted from your dream coin funds. It’s a little more complicated than the simple monthly fee, but it offers more flexibility in how you choose to allocate your funds between premium content and chat. There are frequent discounts available, those percentage circles indicating what percent off you can expect for each one, as well as more discounts the more you buy (because, you know, it’s easier to stomach when you have to pay out of pocket).
OurDream Subscription Pricing
The subscribe screengrab showcases the “sale frenzy” atmosphere that these sites tend to be aiming for. OurDream’s Premium tier is shown as $19.99 per month, but you can also see that it originally ranged between the $39.99/mo that most banners show to “was $39.99/mo” that is given a 50% off monthly or 75% off yearly sale.
What those prices actually unlock is the key: paid members can send unlimited text, voice, images, videos, and receive a monthly allowance of dreamcoins (1000, normally). There’s also voice minutes and character publishing stuff thrown in there. The annual subscription is another variation, where you pay the full amount upfront and earn some bonus coins for example, annual members get an extra 1,000 dreamcoins on top of their monthly allowance when they sign up.
What we should note here, is that the subscription not only affects the chat limits, but it also enables the media generation capabilities. Without subscription, most images and videos will still be locked behind dreamcoins. The constant promotion popups and chasm between full and reduced prices, also indicates that OurDream relies heavily on sales to lure new subscriptions and to appeal to price conscious returning customers.

Pricing Verdict You Need to Know
I dug into the monetization of Crushon AI and OurDream and, well, they both offer a form of “pay to play.” Crushon AI allows you to purchase messaging credits and tokens, but it’s not a subscription-based service. That said, if you want to heavily chat, generate images or gain access to the higher models, you’ll likely be paying for one or more of the monthly or annual plans, which are frequently “on sale” from their “original” prices, as indicated by the tags you see in the image below. It’s a bit like going to the restaurant and being charged for every little thing… Crushon AI pricing.
OurDream offers a simpler model where you pay a subscription fee for unlimited chat, image and video generation, and a monthly allocation of dream coins. Their monthly fee ranges from $9.99 (annual) to $19.99 (monthly), but the amount of extra dream coins they throw in if you commit to an annual payment helps ease the pain. I noticed that both platforms also offer discounts on their fees, so the prices you see today may be different than tomorrow.
The prices and prices in the images are reflective of the pricing at the time this was written but could change as new promotions become available. Crushon AI Unique Feature
What I noticed about Crushon AI was the creator rankings. In the screenshot you see rankings for the top creators for the week, top creators for the month, and even ratings & interaction scores. It’s not just about interacting with AI characters, it’s about the people who create them.
The presence of creator rankings, an engagement score, and even a “popularity” badge add a strange sort of appeal to the platform, like some kind of Twitch-AI girlfriend hybrid. You’re not just interacting with the AI, you are also watching to see which of these girls is leading in the pack, which personalities are in demand, and which users are gaining the most followers. It feels different, more dynamic. It’s not just AI girlfriends, it’s a platform for personalities that have been hand-picked by real people.
It kind of suggests to me that Crushon is more of a crowdsourced building of personalities. The focus isn’t just the AI, the focus is on the community building this. This sort of competitive, leaderboard-style thing, it feels like more of a living site than just a chat app.

OurDream Unique Feature
OurDream, by contrast, seems more focused on building out a creator ecosystem. The language on the “Dreamer Program” page is very different. This is less a chat app, and more an app where you are a creator within the ecosystem. The whole “spotlight Dreamers” section, the number of followers, the engagement metrics… this almost seems like a social network on top of the AI platform.
What I noticed is that the creator program seems really developed. It doesn’t seem like an afterthought. The fact that there are tabs for dreamers, characters, and collections suggests that they want users to build and develop and expand their branding within the platform. It feels less like a ranking competition and more like a presentation of sorts.
I think what Crushon and OurDream evoke is the sense of ambition. Crushon makes you want to compete. OurDream makes you feel like you’re being invited to join a fantasy ecosystem. The fact that you have thousands of followers and millions of reactions puts a lowkey “this is real” spin on it. It isn’t just DMs, they have a public creator presence that makes it feel like more than just a chatbox.
And to be honest, the contrast there tells us a lot about the long-term visions of those two platforms.

Crushon AI Safety
OurDream claims in their terms of service to prioritize user safety, and these strict terms and moderation policies go a long way toward protecting users. Specifically, they prohibit any attempt to create a virtual character resembling any real person or a minor, instead focusing exclusively on AI generated characters. That’s an important part of a responsible approach to the kind of content they allow.
Why does it matter? When AI chat platforms discuss sensitive and intimate topics, it’s essential for users to have confidence that they can do so safely and not open themselves up to exploitation or improper data gathering. While it’s impossible to guarantee completely, OurDream’s approach seems deliberate and thoughtful.

Crushon AI Support
Crushon AI bills itself as providing secure communication and private experience, boasting end-to-end encryption and a way to limit dirty talk within the chatbot. The site makes it clear they allow mature topics, and that there are features like a content filter and other guidelines and tools that ensure activities stay consensual and within appropriate age limits.
That said, other aggregate reviews of AI dating apps like this one report mixed results from companies in this space when it comes to protecting user privacy, so be sure to review any AI girlfriend site’s policies and refrain from sharing sensitive identifying information with your chatbot girlfriend.
OurDream Support
The support for OurDream seems a bit better. They have discord servers and direct contact options, along with their FAQ and help pages. Most users talk about the response being faster if you run into issues and there is a general sense of community which makes it feel less isolating when you need to ask for help. As someone who has encountered a few bugs, it’s nice to be able to say “What the fuck is going on here?” and have an answer.
Conclusion
What did I think about it all in the end? OurDream and Crushon AI both pursue the same goal of dream AI girlfriend/boyfriend but in different ways. Crushon AI is more out there, more wild, more unpredictable, it’s perfect for those who want as close to uncensored RP as you can get, for those who want to go absolutely wild with customization, and those who want to be highly engaged with the community. OurDream is more refined, more deliberate and more polished which gives you a more pleasant chat experience and a more safe space, with better graphics and memory capabilities.
If you want to have the freedom to do whatever, Crushon is the way to go, if you want a more structured experience OurDream wins. In any case, both platforms are excellent representations of how far the AI girlfriend/boyfriend genre has come, and how far it will go in the future.
